Replacing piezos

Replacing piezos

2015-12-10 by jkpoole2002@...

Any idea what Simmons used for the adhesive for mounting the piezos in the pads. I thought contact cement until I opened the pad and saw a mound of some kind of rubbery adhesive. Anybody know what to use?

Probably rubber cement would do but don't know if you can get it in black. It could be silicon which does come in black. It is used as adhesive, feels like rubber but takes a long time to dry.

As far as I know it is RTV / silicone sealant.
Any hardware / home improvement store will have it.

Great article. Thanks for sharing. Any chance you could also post part 1?

Cheers,
