Possible source of pots and knobs for Simmons SDS9 and others

Hi guys,

I've think I've found the source of the pots and knobs on the SDS9, and probably
a few other bits of Simmons kit. They were made by Cliff, who are still in
business and also appear to still be selling them. The knobs appear to be the
K85 model:

I'm going to contact them and see if they are willing to help identify the pots
on my SDS9.

Yes, Cliff are the maker of the knobs and have several coloured caps to 
choose from too. If you happen to own a EDP Wasp and a few other (often 
UK stuff, like Maplin's DIY) made back then they also use Cliff (but K9 
in that case).

Cool!

I spoke to someone at Cliff and they suggested ordering the knobs and pots from
Farnell. I'm trying to track down the parts on Farnell's website, as they don't
come up in a manufacturer search. I know the mix level potentiometer is 100K
linear, but would love to know the values of the other pots. Could someone who
has the schematic let me know the values for other level pots as well as the
sensitivity and program value ones?

I need a few knobs for my sds9 too.

One is missing completely and another two are missing their caps

If you find a way to buy a small quantity let me know!

The sales person at Cliff said their minimum order is 1,000 units - that would
be a bout 700GBP for one order of knobs!

Their suggestion was ordering via Farnell or RS Online, but they don't stock the
K85 knobs. Probably the best alternative I could find is this:

I'll order one along with a suitable through hole mounted, 100K linear pot and
see if it fits in my SDS9.

Knobs? I thought Ed Rose was the list's main supplier, or is that just 
for the caps? :)
A store in my nearest town sells those knobs and caps. I bought for my 
SDS-V there... I don't remember the name of the manufacturer, but I 
guess Ed knows.

google actually has quite a few results for "cliff k85"

octopart seems to have the knobs and caps. (not the grey ones though)

after a proper check ir realised that I only need two grey caps and one knob for my sds9.
this makes it quite hard for me to justify the minimum order of ten knobs
If somebody is doing an order, I'd love to tag along, I'll gladly pay by PayPal or bitcoin for knobs and postage!

I have a couple of caps (green, blue, grey I think) from a set I bought 
on Ebay to restore a SDS-8. It depends on how picky one is with matching 
the colours. The green and blue can differ quite a lot over the years...

I just need two grey caps, my sds9 isn't going to a museum anytime soon, so the colour match isn't that important.

Hi Ewan,

I dug out my knob spares... and realised I only have fresh green ones 
and a bunch of new K85 knobs. BUT, I do have a vintage Hill mixer in 
parts and there are grey knobs, that look like K85's and on them many 
different caps. I tested a grey on the new knobs and they fit.

So, if the knob size is the same as for example SDS-8 and SDS-200, they 
work!

If you want, please send a shot of one of your knobs and I can better 
confirm if I have the knobs too. How many are needed?

The grooves on the sides might differ a bit... Is the shaft 4mm D-type,
