Hello James, I'm Tom, also a new member of the group. I have a set of schematics, waveform flowcharts and service notes for my SDS-III, the SDS-IV (also called the 'Combo' by Musicaid) is a 2 channel version without the 'special effects' channel, this info may be of some use to you. I got the documents from Dave Simmons back in 1979, most of it is hand drawn, probably by the Guru himself ! My original docs. were photocopies which were done on that old photocopy paper that deteriorates with age, but I have scanned and enhanced them and everything is legible. The docs. exist as 7 jpegs totalling approx. 9 megs. If there is enough interest in these ancient scriptures I will upload them to the 'files' area or, I can email the individual files to you. Let me know. Tom. ps. in case anyone hasn't spotted it, there is an SDS-III for sale on eBay (not mine). Hi Tom , That would be great if you could mail them to me as individual files . The Only Schematics I can offer the group is a poor (or incomplete !) set for the SDS 9 . If anyone wants I'll scan what I have . Thanks for your help and information on the SDS IV , I'll give an update on my progress . Hi James, I couldn't upload the SDS 3 files to the user group 'files' area (no room left) so I have put them on my web site - www.tomdw.com Just click on the SIMMONS drum to bring up my 'SIMMONS stuff' page then either view or 'save target as' to download, let me know if you have any problems and please let me know what you think of the documentation. I am sure you will find the documentation very useful, I certainly did Best Regards Tom.

Welcome James, we're not many SDS-IV here... > I'm new to the list and I have a Musicaid SDS IV that I need to repair > and I wanted to know where I could download any information on it ?. You can't, but it's very basic on the inside though sounding fantastic. One of my channels were broken and it was quite easily fixed. All components are standard stuff... > Many thanks > James walker > Synth Repair Services. So it isn't _your_ SDS-IV? Hi Tom , Jesper & List , Firstly a big thanks to tom for scanning and hosting the SDS III Schematics , Thanks :-) . There does look to be some similarity between the SDS III and the SDS IV , what a shocker a Moog style filter ! . I'll take some pics when it's finished and send them to you Tom to pop on your site ( if that's OK with you ?). The SDS IV does belong to a customer who loves it to bits . I also noticed that you have a TMI spot on your page ... do you what a manual for that ?. Hi James! If noone else has one, I've got a severly battered user manual for the TMI... All pages were stuck due to moist etc from a decade in a basement. I managed to get it readable, but it's not pretty... electronically yours, jesper - -- --- ---- ----- ---- --- -- - www.electronic-obsession.se

Hi Jesper I am pleased you found the SDS-3 info useful. My SDS-V is the standard config. without the cymbal and hihat modules (I used pictures from E&MM magazine on my web site). Before I got my SDS-V, I hired a full system for a few weeks and I found the cymbals and hihats to be a bit gimmicky (ok for 'I just called to say I love you') pity, everyone's after them now. I have user manuals for all of my Simmons gear including the TMI, I can make this available for Paul's site if you like ? James, your message was a little unclear, were you wanting or offering a TMI manual ? Hi Tom , Sorry for the confusion , I was offering to scan and PDF the TMI Manual for your site or a 'simmons' site .
