PSIM-1 Update

2005-02-04 by synthmodules

Thanks Scott. Yes, everyone who ordered already has a module waiting
here. They are just in parts... waiting to be finished. This coming
Sunday I'm having a "PSIM-1 building gathering"... and hope to make
*significant* progress. I'll update everyone on the progress made at
that point.

These aren't mystery modules or something that you paid for that
doesn't exist. Every part for every module ordered is sitting in
front of me right now. All the boards (partially populated) are
neatly arranged in anti-static trays (I think Western Digital ships
their OEM hard drives in these or something like that) as I stuff
parts and move on to the next. It's not quite an assembly line... but
doing one part on all the boards before moving on to the next does
make it more manageable. Yes, it was an overwhelming task. As I look
back at how little progress has been made in the last months... I do
wonder how I could have done it better.

Those that already have them have used them in remarkable ways that in
the beginning I couldn't even have imagined. I really look forward to
the creations of those of you still waiting.

When all the modules are completed and shipped, I'll write up an
explanation of everything that has happened from concept through
completion of this batch. There may be some of you interested in
knowing the details... others I'm sure won't care. A lot has happened
in my life since the beginning of this project. Many changes have
taken place and I wake up each and every morning wishing I could spend
the entire day working on finishing the modules. My life was turned
upside down and those of you still waiting on your PSIM-1 were caught
in the middle. I never intended for that to happen.

I'll be working as hard as I can to get them all finished and shipped
as quickly as possible. I'll try better at communicating progress as
it is made. Sometimes it's hard to say what is going on. I've never
been good at letting my personal life enter a public forum. I'm just
one guy who had a dream... and WILL see it through to completion.

Take care...
- Brice
