Re: PSIM Availability? - (and SHIPPING UPDATE)

2005-07-18 by synthmodules

Karl,

It looks like you've been doing some research. The Tiny-Tornado was a
low power multi-band capable Amateur Radio transceiver I designed
shortly after founding the QRPp-I Amateur Radio Club during 2001. A
total of 207 complete kits and hundreds more bare PCB's were shipped
to over 50 countries around the world. The kit was retired early in
2002 and the PCB's went through several revisions and was discontinued
in 2004. It was the funds from the Tiny-Tornado PCB's that allowed me
to begin building analog synthesizer modules and eventually led to the
prototype PSIM-1. There was no overlap between the two projects. The
Tiny-Tornado project was a continuation of work that began in the
1980's by Oleg Borodin RV3GM, in Russia.

PSIM-1 Shipping Update:
I've been busy finishing all the soldering on *all* the remaining
PSIM-1 boards. The final 12 "partials" are sitting in my studio
awaiting testing. They are complete and bagged. Once they pass
initial testing, they will be boxed and shipped. I had hoped to have
them shipped by now but it's looking more like it will be the middle
of this week.

Larry Hendry will probably be the first to receive his since he only
lives about 15 minutes from me. I'm off work today, but since it's my
anniversary (13 wonderful years!), I promised my wife I wouldn't work
on them today.

The remaining complete modules will be shipping in order starting
probably next week. Those will go out one at a time as there really
isn't a good way to wire several at a time.

We're wrapping this up quickly now... and it's about time. :)

More later,
Brice
