Re: Calibrating the Zero

Howdy!

Sorry I missed your email, I'm bouncing back and forth
a lot lately between a Mac and a Windows machine,
and in this odd process, I occasionally miss a message
now and then.

Yes, in the FILES section of this user Yahoo Group:
The Cyndustries List, you will find Zeroscillator
Calibration Procedures listed as a free pdf file.

http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/The_Cyndustries_List/files/

You Mention "Morph" Calibration specifically, and
while there is no Morph Calibration per se,
I suggest that with the Range, Bias, and Thru-Zero
switches in the up position, you first take the big ZO
Tuning Knob down to rock bottom and leave it there
for 20 minutes before adjusting the low frequency
symmetry. This is always the first thing to
do - because all the other adjustments are based on it.

Next check your Sawtooth waves for phase error and
remove the kink in the sawtooth. If the RIGHT side
of the module Morph Outputs are acting strange, (but
the LEFT) are ok, then adjust the QUADRATURE
Trimpot and play, "pin the top on the mountain".

Please Note: The Morph Scale (tick marks) shown
surrounding the pot are iconically
different than the actual oscilloscope waveforms
obtained. (In other words, the front panel legends
printed around the morph knobs do not show
exactly where the morphing occurs throughout
the rotation of the knob).

The morphing occurs, but not at the points in the
knobs rotation as shown on the panel...
We tried and tried to bend the nonlinearity of the
morph function to our will in order to
more closely match the knob graphics, but the
universe just laughed back at us silly
humans and told us we were lucky to have such a
 smooth continuous three wave morph
function in the first place, so we listened!

Best Wishes!

Cynthia
