Hi :) ,i'm new here and to cut a long story short i am about to venture into the world of hardware modulars (ive used a nord mod for many years but . . I popped up here to ask a few questions regards the Cynthia modules. Our studio has decided to build over time a large modular , the idea is to build something which can run 4- 6 monophonic parts minimum for now , whether special fx which mix and merge or seperate ' melodic lines ' , my problem is i started looking at modules and thought , ok , 1 x quad bandpass 1 x lowpass gates 1 x staircase 1 x gate sequencer 1 x super psycho 1 x logipac 1 x . . . . etc etc etc and then i came to randivide and were like heaviliy into random here , and next thing i know its like , do we 'need ' 4 of these ? dont ask me why my head goes like this , i then start thinking , maybe 2 super psycho . . . .but whats a good balance of modules.I know what filters we need and what Vco i think :) ' then i start thinking - maybe 2 x quad bandpass whilst there being built ! and maybe 2 of the lowpass gates , i think i am suffering from ' build a modular but not sure what i need and what if these modules as limited editions go out of production :) ' syndrome. Our aim is to create complex autocompositions though and so i know we need to build a bit bigger than a single module system. i know this is an possible unanswerable question ! the system will focus heavily on special fx and noise effects , the ran divide i can see us using alot. i know there is no over the top or end to this when it comes to 'how many '. has anyone here any feedback on what you find you wish you had more of ? i guess that sums it up or where we should begin ?If i wanted to create a 4 part composition using digital noise as the source do i need 4 ran divide ? I working on the basis of what i do alot with the nord , 4 part evolving morphing stuff . Hope someone can make sense of my logic ? Ps is 1 logic pack enough :)? mat (i just heard someone say , you can never have enough !)
