Sorry Mike, but your math needs a few corrections.  :-)

* 1 * $250 = $250 for modulator VCO (In DX7 algorithms at least one
oscillator/operator is always a modulator without feedback)
* 5 * $650 = $3250 for ZOs (up to five carriers per voice, there are only
six modulators/carriers total)
* 6 * $100 = $600 for VCAs (normally use the ZO internal VCAs for carrier
modulation, but for parallelled carriers this VCA is required for the final
mixed output)
* 6 * $80 = $480 for EGs (though one might argue that Encore UEG envelopes
are closer to DX7 envelopes than ADSRs)
TOTAL for single voice:  $4580 not counting mixers, LFO, etc.
TOTAL for sixteen voice instrument:  $73,280
