multi-format low pass gates?

multi-format low pass gates?

2008-02-15 by edgard_varese

Hello. I was wondering if there has been any consideration given to
producing low pass gates in Dotcom and MOTM formats. Euro and Frac
pretty much have it covered, but I think that there are plenty of
large format users who wish to bridge the east-west divide. The
multiple format releases of the ZO and sawtooth animators are
fantastic for the industry and I think that low pass gates are the
next logical step. Thanks.

Howdy!

It's a distinct possibility!

Thanks for your feedback

I second that. I think there's a real market for MOTM format QLPG. One
way or another I will have this module. If I have to get a DIY
faceplate that's fine but I think many people would cough it up for the
convenience of one stop shopping.

OK, we'll do a one time run of MOTM
Format Quad Low Pass Gates and see
what happens! I just posted this to
the MOTM List and we'll see what
feedback we get back from everyone
over there.

As we are stuffing the new boards and
preparing to finally ship out another
batch of our own banana format Quad
Low Pass Gates, the timing couldn't
be better to go ahead and stuff a few
more boards for the MOTM crowd.

Panels will probably take two months
from start to finish, so this Tuesday
after the four day holiday I'll initiate
the front panel order to start the
Motm front panels.

Best Wishes!

Ah, I noticed the MOTM QLPG photo. Very nice. I'll have to delay my
moratorium on new modules this year. How many units should we expect
to see in this run?

Hi Edgard!

Actually what is shown is the Moog/Dotcom
version of the Quad Low Pass Gates... a lovely
front panel designed for us by Suit & Tie Guy.

The coming Motm version of this module will
sport more of a traditional Motm look and have
four rows of three vertical jacks at the bottom
of the front panel so as to fit the grid of other
Motm type modules and be manufactured for
us by the very same company making panels
for Paul.

We souped (50) circuit boards for our regular
Modcan Banana format Low Pass Gates and
it looks like we will be doubling or tripling
that number in the very near future...

Thanks for your kind comments!

Yeah, I should have recognized the knobs. Now I don't know which
format to get! Maybe MOTM for the narrow panels. Maybe Dotcom for an
easier integration into my existing system (and to avoid black spots
in my Modcan B). Apocalyptic marimba solos are forthcoming! Thanks for
being so responsive.

Very nice job there by Mr. S&T Guy! Is there any possibility of being able to buy the panel by itself? I ordered a stuffed board a while back (anxiously awaiting supposed eminent arrival!!!) and I've been looking around for different designs, mostly MOTM oriented and never even thought of trying to find one in the Dotcom arena as I'm not much of a metal fabricator and there's no Front Panel Express for the Dotcom style as far as I know.

Hello,

I just wanted to say that I am really looking forward to the MOTM
low-pass gate module. When do you think it will be available?

Re: multi-format low pass gates?

Howdy MathRoutine!

I cannot say exactly when the Motm format LPGs will become
available, we're trying to locate a batch of missing circuit boards
from one particular vendor, and while we have the Dotcom format
panels happening, we still do not have the Motm type LPG panels
in the works yet. One foot in and one foot out of each format,
but we'll get there!

Thanks for your words of encouragement, I wish I could predict
the exact date yet, but we're almost there.

Any news on the missing boards? Anybody up for starting a support
group for those with loved ones missing-in-action?

Thank goodness we have YES, just recovered

the missing circuit boards and front panels, Yay!

Now we are working like mad to make up for

Lost time while wondering what on Earth happened

To our Production Manager. ?

This whole episode of someone running off with

Out front panels and circuit boards has been a

Great source of stress to me and my heath has

Suffered the past few weeks. Finally there is light

At the end of the tunnel and we will be shipping in

The next couple of weeks ahead. I thank everyone

For their patience and good will.
