I seem to be the only modular owner who has these kind of issues....well, I’ve always been terrible at putting stuff together.
I just got some sixpacs, and a major power supply, and I am absolutely puzzled about how to put it together. There is documentation online, but it’s kind of sparse, and I am in way, way over my head.
I’m baffled by the simplest stuff – there’s a green ground wire – where does the other end go? What exactly do I do with this little grounding kit? I don’t understand the connectors on the wires for the power supply? What connects to it? How exactly does this all interconnect? It turns out that the power supply takes up a whole case, so I’ll need another case – when my modules all arrive, I’ll have 4 filled up + the one for the power supply.
An faq about the distro cards says:
“On SixPac configured systems of larger than three SixPacs, (or WoodWork cabinets with more than three Combo-Distro Cards inside) it is best to wire-up a terminal block strip to fan out power and ground from a central source.
We sell what we call a "Wiring Harness" for this purpose, which has all of the wires and a special little board with the proper screw terminal strip and mounting holes.”
So, I’m going to need one of these? (I’m all maxed out with modcan and cynthia module purchases, and nervous about spending more $ now. I already realized I need another sixpac case).
Ah, well, I love playing with modular systems, but I’m clueless at this end of it, and quite frustrated right now. I’m probably going to have to pay someone to come over and help me set this up.
