I've had the supreme pleasure of seeing Zakir play several times now and the term "mind blowing" is apt. The second time, he opened for Ravi and Anoushka,( i know i'm spelling that wrong. . . sorry! : ( ) and it was stupendous. I too am bummed about the Tanpura module as it was my original module of choice but i'm sure the Tabla will get me off just as much. kind regards john duval

-------------- Original message -------------- From: "rmechling108" <ramechling2005@gmail.com> Thanks for the 'heads up' and I will have a friend download the samples for me to hear and evaluate. Zakir Hussain and the late Alla Rakha spent many years of their sadhana in learning the intricacies of Indian classical talas. These are not merely a few intricate rythms with Sanskrit names attached. No doubt the many sequencers I see on the AnalogueHaven site could be used to create accurate Indian talas, but for a beginner, I thought it would be a thrill to have preprogrammed voltage controlled rythms to use along with bhajans and other devotional songs being played in Kirtan. Sorry to hear of the fate of the Tanpura module but "good things come to those who wait"...I'm told.
