Another Progress Report...

Another Progress Report...

2007-10-11 by Cynthia

In addition to releasing our new
Photon Interface Module this week,
we got the VC Tablas back from the
machine shop as well as the next
long awaited batch of (40) Euro
format Zeroscillator front panels.
Yes... they're finally here!

As if the Tabla manufacturers in
Bangalore were trying to thwart us,
they started arriving here with welded
steel boxes surrounding the touch
pad keyboards - so that we could not
extract them without totally ruining
the keypads, and thus having to buy
even more tablas, (very expensive,
ouch!).

Well, take that Bangalore! We found
a way around that little problem, but
as many of you know the discovery
process set us back many months.
So fire up those incense burners while
we fire up the soldering irons and
here they come!

This taught us a lesson never to
announce any new product again before
they were totally ready, assembled,
tested, and IN boxes ready to ship
in quantity. (This is why it took us
so long to release any new products,
and the very first new ones are all of
the new Photon Interfaces now shipping).

I've just completed a dizzying array of
invoice and customs paperwork for over
a dozen international shipments and
now they are going out the door. I also
gave the banana trees a real hard shake
over at Pomona to get some cables in
the mail, and all of the back-ordered
Milton Sequencers from so long ago
have finally left the station.
Oh, life is Good!!

(Just thought you'd all like to know!)

HOORAY.... Good things DO come to those who wait !
My harmonium sits there patiently smiling.... never needs any electric
cords or audio cables...always ready to play :)
So, the two empty 6-Pacs won't be empty for long...? 3 cheers for C.W.

Hi cynthia, are the miltons still being made? Would love one of them, best sequencer design ever.

WoodWork, Miltons, and Tablas... Oh My!

2007-10-13 by Cynthia Webster

Hi Denon!

That is very very kind of you to say,
however we are done making Milties
and just may have something else to
think about in the coming months...

As far as Motm format Tablas, well
we're done making those forever too.

All of the custom work over here is
winding down, and we will soon be
eliminating "Special Order Modules"
as a category from the website too so
that we can concentrate on shipping
everything faster in the future.

The custom Moog cabinet here has
finally shipped, and the Moog Taurus
Pedals- into-a-module conversion
project is also very close.

We are in the process of streamlining
everything behind the scenes right
now, and while we're speaking of
cabinets...

Finding willing or skilled carpenters
has been a challenge over the years,
so in the same spirit of speeding-up
orders, we have now eliminated our
oak WoodWork cabinets.

For a limited time, customers who've
already purchased our oak cabinets
in the past will get special support
if they absolutely have to have one,
but as you can see they've already
been phased out on our website.

With our aluminum SixPacs being
so light and strong it is much easier
to build your own wooden cabinet
around them, even for those with the
most rudimentary carpentry skills.

You can also take clusters of SixPacs
over to a custom rock n'roll ATA
type case company and ask then to
build you a lightweight Anvil case
around them, (that way the SixPacs
ensure that the dimensions and
mounting of the modules are all
correct). Because in this case the
SixPacs provide so much structural
integrity, the road cases don't have
to be as thick or heavy as they'd
normally be without them.)

We do plan to release more designs
in other formats than our own again
in the future, MOTM yes for sure.

I think only five-percent of total ZO
sales so far have been in Dotcom
format, so we probably will not be
supporting that format in the future
without more sales. Who knows?
(It is still a little early to say for sure).

Ok, now back to the lab to breath life
into some Euro Zeroscillators here
on the slab!

Best Wishes!

Please make intermodulated octal low pass gates.

Or something strange, and mega. Perhaps involving cthulhu.

That would be nice.
