Akai S1000 / S1100 samplers

Hi...I just joined here looking for a manual (found it, thanks!)

So, yesterday I walk into a local thrift store up the corner from me, run by a military veterans group. They sell donations of used clothes, TVs, furniture...you name it. A couple fo the guys were tenants of mine at one point, so we're friends.

I spot a couple of keyboards lying on the floor by some clothing and a guy looking thru the one case. As I get close he says "sorry dude, I just bought these!" Then he tells me I'd be sick if he told me what he got them for...and what he was going to resell them for....

I see the one guy I know up behind the counter and yell "Hey Kenny, did you just sell all of this?" He says, "That guy next to you says he wants them...why, you want them?" I tell him I'd take them if he doesn't. A couple minutes later, the alleged buyer says "You can have this one, it looks old. I'll take this one."  So, he lets me take the Yamaha DX7 with the roadcase and expansion/storage cards and two pootswitches. He takes the Roland Juno 106. 

Then....it get ineresting. He goes up to the counter and tried to get them to hold it for him for a TEN DOLLAR DEPOSIT!! My friend tells him "the other guy is standing there with cash" but I tell him that I don't want to steal it from under him. So, they tell him that they will hold it until 4 p.m. for him and the guy says he will be right back and drives off.

4:30 my cell phone rings and my friend says "the guy never came back...it's your's if you want it." So, I go right up, whip out $50 and my friend says "do you want the rest of it too?" He points behind me to a pile with an Akai S1100, an Emu Pro 1 piano module, a MIDI date transposer and a huge bag of patch cords, switching boxes, etc.

I ask "How much?"

"Give me another $20"

So...for $120 US I score two clean synths, the sampler, a piano modlue and a pile of other crap.

Cool.

That made up for my $300 car repair turning into $1060 the same day :)

Anyway....so that led me to this forum. Hi all.
