The first in the series is the wonderful S612 - I can't imagine the S900 and the S612 both being released in 1986 as technologically they are worlds apart. I've got an advert of the S612 which is dated as 1986; I was under the impression the S612 was released in 1985, followed by the S700 which came under a year later.

I think it goes like this?
1986 - something else, forgot the name, was a 1unit rack
1986 - s900
1988 - s950, s1000
1990 s1100
1992 s3000, s2800 (??)
1995 - s2000, s01
1996 - s3000xl, s3200
1998 - s500, s600, s20
I might be compelty wrong :)
