Akai S1000 / S1100 samplers

translator is the best way to get sample's on your akai hardrive,format and connect your scsi hd into a pc,
or just stick it in the scsi chain somewhere,

then use the translator software to copy the sample's strait on to
your drive,job done.


but another way I have found, make sure you have a later o.s loaded,
I have the s1000 and my o.s is 4.3,
I have connected it by scsi to my pc to an adaptec card,
make sure your scsi bios see's the sampler,'it won't have a name,on mine it just shows a small list of characters'.you might have to fiddle with the scsi settings on you scsi cardto get it to see it.

So set the scsi to look for ID 5(default) or whatever its set ,and try a few different settings.If its not working(this whole thing counts on the fact you have your scsi bios set up right),if you are having problems you might want to isolate just the sampler and computer until you've sussed it.


Now I only found this out to work recently because i didn't think s1000 worked with scsi sample dump standard, but i have got it to work using recycle 2.0,
i just set it to send to an s3200 and set the ID.

Then load a wav sound in(it could be a drum set in one file,then you can get recycle to split the sounds and send to the sampler,it even creates the program, i was well pleased when i got this to work:)

The only software I have this working in is recycle,so you would have to find a copy, I think it would also not work on any newer version,i couldnt send with soundforge etc. dont know why?, has anyone else got scsi sample dump working into an s1000 on pc?,if so ,how did you get it working?.
