The info in the link that was given in previous response has all the jumper settings you need. I had the exact same thing happen & found a computer shop locally that will take in old pcs & have "pulls" of drives from them. Just ask for a "jumpered floppy drive that can send the ready signal out line 34". They had a ChinonFZ-357 dated '94 that was from an old pc. Paid $10 for it, changed 2 jumpers & I was back in business! Hope that helps. --- In akaiS1000S1100Samplers@yahoogroups.com, Hallvard Tangeraas <my_list_address@y...> wrote: > (I'm sorry if this message comes up twice -I sent it a few days ago, but > it never showed up in the group, so I'm trying again) > > A friend of mine owns an S-1100 with a defective floppy disk drive and I > want to help him replace it. > > I've asked around and searched the web, but so far haven't found much > information about this, so I'm wondering if someone here knows which > drives are compatible with the S-1100, or if it's somehow possible to > modify a standard PC type disk drive? > > > -- > Hallvard
