Hello Denis,
Take a break before the burnout ;)
Well, i'm not using floppy emulator or omniflop, sorry. I have the scsi chain and i will go for a scsi2sd, maybe on one sampler, connected to the other.
I found 2 x 8mb boards for the S1100, from Mutec ! So they made some also, and they're working perfectly.
Sampling old gear is a good idea too, specialy when you work on analog mono synth, and want to "keep" the sound you've created, before you loose it the next day.
But do you have the old 3200, or the 3200xl ? As you're talking about flash memory... I didn't compare 3200 vs 3200xl, but 3200 vs 3000xl (wich as different DAC).
I personaly prefer the oldest ones, something's different : dynamic (kind of compression on the xl), stéréo image, and if i use it as a synth, merging for example 4 simple waveforms and different modulations, there is something more "analog" with the oldest : i can ear some kinds of random frequencies behind, moving from note to note. On the xl this is "freeze". I mean, the sound is really really close, but the small differences make this important for my use. I've earded the same on Roland D50 vs D05 with same sysex : sound's very close, but harmonics are freeze one the newest.
But maybe you can use an lfo connected to the filters to simply simulate this...
Cheers,
Olivier.
