Re: s1000 output select

The S1000 uses programs and keygroups to organize outputs.

The short version of this is that you need to find the SMP1 soft
button (the buttons that change depending on what you are doing) which
is in the Edit Program area.

The long version is this:

(Depending on what version you have, you may or may not have to do
this step first.) From Edit Program, hit the OUT soft button, and
change the "mono out" from OFF to 1. This enables the individual outputs.

From there, hit KGRP ("keygroup"). This changes the soft buttons, and
then hit SMP2. On this page, there is an "out" column, and changing
the data in this field changes the output destination, but by adding
to the number you assigned in the first step, the Edit Program-->OUT
page. If you set the "mono out" to 0, then the output of your sample
will be individual output 1. If you change it to +1, the sound will
come out of output 2. If you want it to come out of output 4, then
change the "out" to +3, and so on.

Strange but true. Note that if you set the "mono out" to, say, 4, then
the "out" column is really individual output number 4 + whatever you
add in this column.

It can get a bit baffling to sort all this out, I admit, and you of
course need to make sure you've got your MIDI channels set up and your
keyboard spans laid out (or you won't know what you're assigning in
SMP2...).

Hope this helps,
