Hello all,
I am a new member but I don't have an Akai sampler, yet.
My goal is to get an S1000 or S2000 soon.
My main reason to have sampler is to play Mellotron samples via
a MIDI keyboard (I have a Studiologic/Fatar TMK-37).
Some questions:
- If any what Mellotron samples / discs are availalble for the
S1000/S2000? Suggestions & sources?
- What file format does the S1000/S2000 use?
- I see that that there are many Mellotron sample discs on the
market but I see they are only in the .wav or .aiff format.
- If I have a collection of .wav and/or .aiff samples can they be
converted to work with an S1000 or S2000? Is there a conversion SW for
this? Then can these be loaded directly in the the sampler?
If above is not possible then would I have to play these
.wav files and record them with the S1000? Example, play .wav in
my PC & output via my E-MU 1616 analog out into the analog in of
the S1000 & record?
- Is there enough memory expansion capability for S1000s & S2000s to
have 36 samples of 5 to 8 seconds long? Each sample would be for each
key on the keyboard. This would be my virtual Mellotron.
I look forward to replies and advice! :)
