Akai S1000 / S1100 samplers

Hi there,

I need to make CD's out of AKAI's HD, but my only computer having SCSI 
ports is an old pc being only able to run linux.
There are a lot of posts on the net on how to do that using toast under 
mac but not so much for linux users.
Have anyone tried a command called "dd" to dump a SCSI disk 
into "burnable" image?
Will it work?
What should be a parameters?
