Akai S1000 / S1100 samplers

Hi folks.
I just bought S1000...I bought also internal Hard drive for it. I read in the manual that I 
can save the latest OS (4.4) on a HD and after that it will be loading it automatically from 
there instead to load floppy diskette all the time... Is that true? Or I need eprom chip?
