I have used several of the 235s and they
do not work, now I will say there are 235 drives going way back. The
numbers after the 235 are what's important and those units you will be lucky to
find.

Thanks for the replies. It seems earlier on in the forums somebody
claims a TEAC fd-235 was successfully used in an AKAI S1100. So can
anbody please confirm this model has worked for them in an AKAI S1000.
I'd be glad to get this unit working but not confident in spending a
fourtune on it to find it's a dud.
Any experiences would be appreciated
