Hi Alex, It's not too difficult; I'll try and talk you through it. Let's assume you've got your samples loaded, tuned, etc... and you've created a program and named it. Press "Edit Prog," to bring up the Program edit menu, if you haven't already. Press F2 (KGRP) to assign keygroups to your program (the key, or group of keys, that you want to assign samples to). The default number of keygroups is 1 (one sample assigned to all keys). Change it to 2 by pressing "+" on the keypad. You can assign more, but for demonstration purposes two will do. Next, assign samples to the two keygroups. Press F7 (SMP1). Default is KG:1, so assign your sample as usual. Then highlight the 1 next to KG, and dial up 2. You can now assign your second sample to KG:2. The next step is to tell the S1000 which keys/notes of each keygroup will play your samples. Press F3 (SPAN). Highlight the number 1 under "KG," dial up 2 so you can see both your keygroups. You'll see a representation of a keyboard to the left of each, and to the right you'll see the note-range, low/hi, of each keygroup. Let's say you want your first sample to play across an octave from C5 to C4. Dial those settings in next to keygroup 1. To assign a sample to just one key, dial in the same note under the "low" and "hi" settings (C4 and C4, for example). You can also assign notes by pressing the corresponding keys on you controller keyboard, but be careful because pressing too many times cycles through the settings and you have to redo them. Once you're done, press F1 to return to the main menu, preview your program, save it, etc... I hope I've explained that sufficiently. Any questions just drop me an e-mail.
