Is there need for the S1100 Service Manual?

Is there need for the S1100 Service Manual?

2011-05-05 by slash.katana

Hello everybody :-)

Does anybody need the S1100 Service Manual and or Schematics?
If so, I would scan them in 300-600 dpi and upload the files.

Kind regards,
Slash_Katana

Alright!

I'll scan the documents this weekend.
The service manual would be no problem, but the schematics are partial four times DIN A4 in size, so I have to do multiple scans and then glue them back together... don't know yet how i will manage this?!

What file-format would be appreciated? Since i don't own a pdf-creator software, I thougt about GIF - would be small and easy to edit...

Does anybody know, how to upload? never done it before (in this forum)

Kind regards,
Slash K

Ooops,- the schematics are 4x Din A4 size in one piece ???

What file-format would be appreciated? Since i don't own a pdf-creator software, I thougt about GIF - would be small and easy to edit...

Well,- PDF would be best, but any pic format works also, GIF, JPG or such,- if the pics will be large enough to read everything correctly.

Regarding the PDF,- you could use the free Open Office, open a new text document, drag in the pics and text and export as PDF w/ a one button click on the [PDF] button in the command line.
http://www.openoffice.org/

Does anybody know, how to upload? never done it before (in this forum)

Sorry, that´s what I also never did before,- but tried one time and it failed.

Another solution would be Dropbox.
http://www.dropbox.com/

Create a free account, get 2GB of webspace, create a/ your private folder and name it, put the stuff in, link the folder and put the folder-link in a mail or post in the group.
Maybe someone who knows how to upload at Yahoo can do it for you then.
I don´t know what the data size limits are at Yahoo.

Kind regards,
Slash K

ditto,- and thx for your helpfulness !

It would be absolutely geat to get the service manual.
I had the S-1100 at 3 techs meanwhile and they cannot find the fault w/o the manual.
The sampler was also at german Akai service and they didn´t find the fault WITH the service manual, maybe because of being too time consuming.

O.k.,- I really hope for it ...

Re: [akaiS1000S1100Samplers] Is there need for the S1100 Service Manual?

2011-05-07 by Robert Dunn

Hi again - I have access to a large photocopier where I can scan and re-print A3
documents and zoom, rescale etc.
If you can get the schematics over to me I can create A3 repreints and full size
pdfs too.
Rob

Hi Rob,

thanks for the offer :-)
The schematics are more like DIN A2 or A1, as I told, they are like 4 to 6 DIN A4 pages together (folded).
Guessing from your email adress, you live in the UK, right?
I am from germany, so it's from here to uk and back - that woulnd't be quite cheap I guess :-/
Tomorrow I will start with the service manual, witch is plain A4 - hence no problem. I also will start to scan the schematics, but first the A4 pages, then the big charts.
Hopefully mother's day won't cost me to much time :-P

Have a nice weekend,
best regards,
Slash

Hello everybody :-)

First of all: I'm very, very sorry for taking so long :-/

Some of the pages are completly redone using MSpaint, some are at least cleaned up and only a few are raw scans (but stiched back together).

I will keep on redoing more pages, especially the diagrams, over the time and when finished, I will upload a new revision to the group-owner.

If you have any trouble reading any page, I will naturally do a re-scan for you!

So have fun with it ^^

PS.: The mystery about the floppy should be over now, as you can see on page 4, you just need to rewire some signals and every PC-floppy drive should work! :-D
