Hi all, do you have Experiences with Datram loading from alternative sources? Like a pc or mac from dattape i can load all from a pc - file (recorded from the same tapes) only 2-3 percent of the volumes. Is there any other way to get files from datrams back or a software which can convert the volumes out of the datramaudiofile? Thanks Mark

hi jason, i mean memory dat backups on audiodattapes. in the 90s you could buy some of them from ueberschall instead of cdroms also. if you listen to them on an audiotape you hear the computerdata and the audio. so you could take the audio and cut it manually, but then you do not have all the work for building the programms keygroups restored. autoslicing of the audio is also not possible because the s1000 was leaving no audiogaps, so every autoslicetool thinks each volume is one 32 mb audioclip. mark Am 24.01.2012 um 14:26 schrieb Jason Adkins <jason_ralf808@...>:

hi jason
i found the things i needed on an other harddisk so no need anymore.
back in the days (1988) when i started to use datrams with the s1000
everyone using an s1000 knew about it, today below 1 percent of
the owners.times are changing but in 1988 a harddisk was about 40 MB and not 1 TB
and the price for 40 MB was abot 900 USD, so you understand why everybody
used the timeconsuming writing on dat when you could write 1GB on a 10 USD tape.
It was the only way to build a GB Samplelibrary without robbing a bank!

Hi Mark
I have no experience with data/audio DAT's for the Akai S1000 (I have an A5000) myself but I guess they are the same as a CD,are you trying to import the sounds digitally or analog?
