S01 - Am I allowed in here?

S01 - Am I allowed in here?

2004-05-12 by midlifepanic

Hi,

I hope someone can be bothered to help? I've just picked up a mint
S01 for next to nothing from e-bay to play about with. This thing has
no SCSI interface, just a humble a 3.5" floppy drive.

As I haven't a clue about samplers in general, what's the easiest way
to get new samples from CD's onto the floppies? I've used 'Akaidisk'
with some success, but boy is it slow!

The S01 reads S1000 files, so should I be buying S1000 CD's or .WAV
cd's?

Also, if I download S1000 samples from the web to my PC, how do I get
them onto Akai formatted floppies?

Confused.

oh wow you have one superb machine i also have one ok its only mono but very easy to use

i think the only way to put audio samples on the machine from a c.d is to connect it directly to the o/p of your mixer at line level/another idea is perhaps to mix the L/R Channels together so you get a rough balance in mono

hope this helps
