NEW USER LOOKIG FOR HELP

NEW USER LOOKIG FOR HELP

2005-09-23 by akaiusertdl

I hope there are still people out there who love the machine, and I
have a few question if anyone can help??
1 I have version 4.4OS but my manual is 2.2 and the method it
describes for copying your OS floppy does not work!! Can anyone tell
me what to do or copy me a spare OS Disk?

2 How can I tell how much RAM is onboard?? Do I have to take the top
off and look inside? And how far can I expand it and with what RAM?

3 Anyone have any ideas where I can get a SCSI card cheaper than
£150.00?

I saw a thread where someone mention buying sample libraries on
floppy or HD - if you are still out there please get in touch.

And if you are new to this wonderful old school machine and want to
learn together send me an email.

Many thanks to you all.

Best wishes

thedarkleo.

I recommend you goto www.synthzone.com and visit the AKAI link. Underneath that
you will find several sites that can help you,.

Hi,

- If there is in synthzone an important link which is not in our link
section, let me know and I'll add it here.

- SCSI cards go for 100 Euro. Look in the link section.

- If you go for a scsi card you will soon have access to loads of
sample libraries on cdrom!

Regards,

Frank

thank you my friends, any ideas as to how to copy my O/S disk - the
manual is different to the O/S I am using??

Hi,

Sorry for the late answer. The recording of a video manual for the
roland D2 takes much more time than I thought!

- Load your OS from floppy: just insert your floppy before startup;
the sampler will load the OS automatically
- when loaded: press DISK button on 2nd row
- press SAVE button on 1st row (softkey)
- go with cursor knob to 'type of save'
- with dataknob, select 'operating system'
- press 'go' softkey

thats it
hope it helps

that sounds a lot simpler than the manual!!
I will be giving that a try as soon as I get a spare minute and I'll
report back!

Thanks for taking the to let me know my friend.

Especially as you sound busy!!

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
