AKAI memory chips

2004-06-20 by bounce

Hi,

Just bougt a S1100 with 18 Mb RAMM.
it's got an internal harddrive with harddisk recording option but I still might update to 32 Mb
nternal memory.

Is it true that AKAI memory chips are the same as Mac SIMMs?
And if so... which SIMMs should i get? (for which type Macintosh computer?)

Welcome to the group.

The S1100 uses a special akai memory board. Take a look in the links
section. There you will find some links to companies which sell memory
boards. If you do not want to spend too much money, buy yourself a
S1000 for the memory.
BTW: if you have an internal hard disk, can you make a picture of the
inside of the sampler? You have to open it anyway to put an extra ram
card inside. I'm realy curious if akai uses the same power supply for
the models with hard disk. I wanted to mount a hard disk inside mine
but I'm not sure which connector to use.

Regards,
Frank
