S1100 will not turn on... what do I do?

S1100 will not turn on... what do I do?

2006-09-08 by brainztain

Hi,

I just got an s1100 with an internal hard drive... unit looks like it
has been taken care of but I can't get the thing to power on. I opened
it and noticed that the power supply's little red light lights on when
I connect it to the wall.. but that's it. It doesn't do anything when
I press the switch. Does anybody know what it could be? I know it can
probably be the switch, but anything else?

Thanks!

Hey,

Thanks for the response. Fortunately I was able to fix
the "problem". All I had to do was move some of the power supply
cables around and then it turned on like magic! Man, that was a good
deal for me. $25 with 16mb and 80gb hdd... weeee!!!

Great! :) Congratulations. BTW, please, can you check something for me?
I have a s1100 too, but it came with the XLR cables unsoldered. Can you
take a pic of the wires and tell me where to solder the three wires? Or
just take a look at the colors and the order. Please! :)

Damn... I'm sorry, but I already closed and racked it and I'm too
lazy to take it out and open it again. Maybe you can figure it out
by looking at this http://colomar.com/Shavano/xlr_cable.html . Hope
that helps and good luck.

Ok, I dont' mind opening that up.

If you're facing the sampler and you pull out the connector so you can
see the top of the inside of it, then the white cable should be on the
left connector, the pink should be on the bottom middle connector and
the black should be on the right connector. There is an orange chip
that connects from the black cable's connector to the top middle
connector (for some reason there are 4 connectors in total). I took a
picture with my cheapo cell phone. I'll e-mail it to you hopefully
that'll help.
