Maximum SCSI Drive Size S1000

Hi, I've got an S1000 that i'd like to use more but don't have a SCSI drive that is small enough. I've tried a few 9GB scsi drives with it, but for some reason after a while the samples seem to become corrupted and start loading back distorted and messed up. The floppy seems to work fine, so my only conclusion for this was that i'm using an incompatible SCSI drive.
Can someone tell me what the maximum sized SCSI drive is that I can reliably use with the S1000? In fact, doesn't even have to be the max, any size that works for you is great. I have a computer recycling centre nearby that i'm hoping i can pickup a few drives from.
THanks!
