A few questions

Hi all, i bouht S1100 last week and I am planning to replace backlight and install scsi drives. I bought it because it was cheap 110 euros, but it sounds so analog that I decided to keep it. I already tryed to update OS using utility from akaipro site, but floppy I created doesn't work. Do I need real MS-DOS to create a floppy, because in WinXP I get warning message (something about direct access to floppy)... after pressing ignore it starts writing to floppy, but when I load it with akai (at boot time) it doesn't work. It says soething about unknown format. Loading existing os 2.09 from floppy written with sampler works ok. Anyone already successfully updated os. Is floppy needed every time when sampler is turned on or only once? One question about user interface. Does all AKAI samplers have user interface like S1100? What I don't like is that I have to select midi channel for each program and not program for midi channel. So if I am searching for some sound that I want on midi channel 2 I need to go through all programs and set it's midi channel to 2 and if I dont like that sound I need to turn it off and go to next program and repeat this procedure and so on for each program.. It that true? I hope there is an easier way to do that. On my Kurzweil 2500 I just choose midi channel.. and than scrool through programs... much faster.. Ok.. last question.. can I access internal scsi cdrom drive on my pc with akai if I connect AKAI and pc? Thanks in advance.. Miha
