You can save to the current pattern (default) but one think I like to
do is save little variations to different patterns that are not
selected in a current playlist. Then, when I select a new part, I
adjust the playlist so that eventually I have a series of parts that
have slightly different patterns. I then string the parts together to
play in series - and all this as easy as pie as you play. Even live.
You can also extend playlists live, adding the variations as you make
them and that's something I've started to do more and more.
