Hi Colin, i got some strange midi-sync things going on. Last week i synced the P3 to a laptop with LogicAudio as MidiMaster and the P3 as MidiSlave. Sometimes the sync was ok, sometimes the P3 was out of sync. I couldn't figure it out then, but today i made some tests, and here is what's going on. 1) When the P3 is not running, and Logic starts from the first Bar, everything is Ok. The P3 starts with Logic and is in sync, the tempo knob of P3 is deactivated. 2) When the P3 is not running, and Logic starts from the middle of somehwere (e.g. the second bar) then the P3 starts with Logic and is in Tempo Sync, but has an offset of some beats, which then after a while gets corrected. 3) Now something strange: If I have the P3 running, and I press start in Logic at the second Bar, the P3 is not in Sync, running at its own Tempo. Well that seems to make sense to me, and is ok. Then I press stop in Logic, and the P3 stops also. But when I then restart Logic from the second Bar the P3 is not in Sync. I can stop and start Logic, the P3 is not in sync. When I then start and stop the P3 and then start Logic from the second Bar, still the P3 is not in Sync. But when I then start Logic from the first Bar, the P3 starts with Logic and is in perfect sync. I then tried to snyc the P3 to my Yamaha QY20 and got the same behaviour. The QY20 sends Midi Start when you first press the Rewind Button, and Midi Continue when you don't rewind the Pattern. So the following is going on: When the P3 is stopped, and it receives a Start, everything is fine. When the P3 is running, and it receives a Stop it stops. When it then receives a start, it is running in Sync. When the P3 is running, and it receives a Stop it stops. When it then receives a continue, it's not running in Sync. When the P3 is stopped, and receives a Start, its running in Sync. When it then receives a stop, it stops. When it then receives a continue, it continues (the LED going on from where they stopped) but all the Pattern start from the beginning (no difference if P or B in the Playlist). Ah, ok, now this seems to be the one Problem, that the Patterns don't continue, but restart, and when the End of the Global Bar is reached, they restart again. Ok, I hope this describes the Sync-Problem enough, so that you know what's going on. Well at least I know now what's going on, for now I just have to make sure, that the P3 doesn't receive Continue, just Start, then everything is cool. And once again, thanx a lot for the AUX events, I'm using them more and more, they are really great. On May 20th I have a little OpenAir Session, and now I bought a MiniDisk, so then I will make some recordings, so you guys can hear what I'm doing with the P3. Cheers, Stoffel
