You'd need to be able to switch the clock source manually because at the moment the switching is in response to the midi start message. If it ignores the start, it won't switch source. I suppose an option for 'manual start midi sync' could have the start message switch the clock source over to midi, but not start the sequencer, and then leave you to manually start it.
