Damn. I haven't even received my P3 yet, and already I gotta update? This is accessed by using FUNC+REC in pattern edit. Incoming midi notes are written into each step of the pattern in turn regardless of the current step playing. So if you play a 6 note chord, it will be turned into a pattern 6 steps long, with the notes in the order they were played. The 'clr' option resets the pattern length to 1 and sets the first step to skip (i.e. silence). This does not delete the note values on each step, so you can always exit ARP mode and set the length back to where it was if you lose a cool pattern. 'rong' = reset on new group. This automatically 'clr's the pattern when a new note is played after any previously held notes have been released. This is probably more like your traditional arpeggiator. For precise control of the order of notes in the arpeggio, hold the first note down, while entering the rest of the notes one at a time, then release the first note. Setting the pattern direction to forward, reverse or pendulum is equivalent to up, down or up&down, and if you want to extend the range, us the note offset accumulator. Of course this isn't restricted just to octave shifts. Aux notes can also be added to create arpeggiated 'chord memory' type effects. The functionality is not finalised yet, so if you think of any obvious improvements let me know. Enjoy ! Cheers, Colin f Yahoo! Groups Sponsor ADVERTISEMENT Yahoo!
