This isn't possible on P3. It's something I've thought about, and may use in
a future design, but I'm not convinced of the advantages of rotary encoders.
Encoders with electrical contacts don't seem to last that well, and don't
have that good a resolution, maybe 24 or 36 steps per revolution, so you
either need an acceleration algorithm or a lot of turns to go from one limit
to the other.
