If you are not already in 'cc'/aux upper nob mode, pressing FUNC + step key function acts as a shortcut to it. The aux function assign menu looks like this: .... All controllers in the range 0 to 127 can be selected using the DATA knob. In order to toggle between the midi cc and 'aux events' list, press the PAGE key.... So, apparently, the red button is the 'step key function switch'? I searched the entire pdf for a definition of the 'step key function switch' and couldn't find one, so I assumed it was another way of saying the step key...hence my confusion about selecting the controller per step. Reinforcing my confusion was that I did achieve the aux function assign menu doing it while under the sway of my delusion. Well, thanks! I'm pressing forward, having a 3 day weekend, and I'm going to learn this thing inside and out in that time if it kills me. My only trepidation about this is that the manual isn't exactly a friendly way to get started. Paul - when is your tutorial going to be ready :) Gene >> So, I figure that I'm confused on a very basic point, but I've already spent >> more than an hour trying to figure this out, and would appreciate someone >> leading me out of my puzzlement. > > Hope that helps - if not, fire away!
