Analogue-sequencer

I'm reading all these suggestions about playlist editing and it's getting deeper and deeper by the week. At what point are we gonna lose control or to put it another way at what point are we going to get lost in code and forget what level we're on?? Who is going to be able to remember all this unless there is  dictionary thick manual alongside? I for one can't remember more than a few well used commands during the heat of performance. Is this ringing a bell for anyone else?
