Hi Phil / All, So far I have about half a dozen people who've said they would like boards in the second run, so it's not yet certain that there will be one unless everyone is happy to pay the higher price on a smaller run. There were 25 sets of boards in the first run - around 20 orders will be needed to trigger another. I was thinking that people who didn't want to buy a set in the first run were maybe waiting to see how the builders of the first run got on building and using them, and then would decide whether to get a set in round 2, so I wasn't really expecting round 2 to happen too quickly. When a few more people have working units, and share their experience of them, maybe the orders will pick up. So far we only really have my word, and Mr Nagle's, that the P3 is any good... I can also see that some cautious souls might have been waiting to see the whole thing wasn't an elaborate scam - you know what the 'Net can be like. Plus I also want to get some quotes from other PCB suppliers, as the very good price I got from Olimex was somewhat offset by the long lead times, and screw-up over missing boards. What I'll do is start taking a deposit of 20ukp to guarantee a place in a second run if/when it happens. I'll refund the deposit if I don't ever get enough orders, although I'm reasonably confident that won't be the case. This will make the process slightly more definite that me just keeping a folder in Outlook with messages from people who might buy a set, and then having to chase everyone for confirmation when I think I have enough orders. The final price for second run orders will be slightly higher than the first - probably around 85ukp. So, if you want to get in line for round 2, you can PayPal 20ukp to me at colin@colinfraser.com , or email for alternative payment instructions. Once all of the first run have been received, there may even be a spare set or two floating about that I had in case of emergencies, so the first in line for round 2 may get a set sooner than they think - no promises though ! Also, if anyone is *really* desperate to get a set, I can always supply the pre-programmed CPU by itself, and let you order a one-off set of boards direct from Olimex. One-offs are US$104 plus shipping for the boards. A pre-programmed CPU by itself will be 40ukp - obviously not as good value as being part of a bulk order. Cheers, Colin f
