when mine lost its code I had that, it then 'hung'...
Re-flashing it fixed it for me.

My LCD starts with a black line, but this is *before* it says "firmware
check" I assume this is just because the LCD has not yet been initialised by
the CPU and has a buffer full of junk.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
