Hi Paul,

Seeing how you are master of cool tricks - and I've still got to read the
manual, perhaps you can help.

I'm after some sequences of more than 16 notes, can this be done ?

If not can I use 2 or 3 tracks and alternate between tracks every time I go
around the loop ?

i.e. Track 1 first part, Track 2 second part (both same channel) and the
just sequence 121212121 turning the tracks on and off ?

Or is there an easier way ?

Cheers

Well, it's been a while; and this one is only going to be use to those lucky
enough to have access to more than one P3....

Setup each part so that it uses different GBar lengths. My master P3 has all
its global bars set at 16 and repeats at 1. When I select multiple parts it
therefore plays through each part in turn as you'd expect. Now using the
newly enhanced Thru function I can send both P3s' output to one multitimbral
module (a Virus as it happens) choosing which P3 sends data to which channel
using prepared Parts with relevant tracks active/muted.

The cunning bit happens when you set the second P3 to have different GBar
lengths. And not just 32, 64 etc. but 62, 66 and 256 and so on.
With all patterns synced to the Gbar you'd normally get some cool variations
this way anyway but it's even better when each P3 now tracks its Parts at
a different rate. You get combinations of parts playing that you didn't
expect or plan: you can end up with tracks on both P3s playing the same MIDI
channel at once, for example (so best make the patch polyphonic) but one may
hang around longer than the other.

I even tried GBar lengths like 17 just for laughs and it still ended up
sounding cool.

Just thought I'd share that... :)

Paul
