That is weird... If the P3 is started from MIDI, it immediately sets itself to respond to incoming clock. There's no way it can get from receiving a start message to running without passing the code that configures external timebase. Are you sure there isn't some weird MIDI routing going on in your AMT8 where another clock signal is reaching P3, merged with the MPC start/stop ? Does adjusting the tempo on P3 adjust the speed ?
