The P3 is actually the first time I've come across middle-C-as-C5. When I was doing most of my gear buying the consensus was 50-50 between C3 and C4. (Max/MSP has two options for showing its numerical objects as MIDI notes: "MIDI Note Names" and "Note Names C4".) Having said that, C5 works for me, since it makes the mental arithmetic easier (especially when doing other MIDI hacking): C0 means 0, none of those messy negatives. -- N. nick rothwell -- composition, systems, performance -- http:// www.cassiel.com
