You could do what scores of display-challenged hardware vendors have 
done in the past:  C#- and C#=  (ie - 2 minus signs).

Consult any Oberheim PerFx manual for more cryptic abbreviations that 
actually kind of almost sort of make sense after a while.

(Personally, I have a mix of gear that uses C3 and C4 as center - most 
are C4).
