This is something that is planned to be implemented as an 'auxiliary
controller'.
At the moment, the only available auxiliary controllers are the sending of
midi CC messages. This will be extended so that you could for example set
aux A on a given pattern to 'randomize gate length', and then the value for
that controller on each step will control the limit of random change in the
gate length for that step.
There are a whole list of things to be implemented this way. One powerful
one will be the ability to use one controller to set a probability of
another controller actually taking effect. Handy for random random effects
;-)
This stuff just needs a few more variables to be set up, and the 'aux conf'
UI to be increased to allow the extra options. When I get some spare time...
Fortunately I've just got the plumbing and floor laying to do in the new
kitchen now, so I can get back to 'work' soon.
