Trust me when I say that it's like having 7 additional banks within each bank because a part can now store completely new, different music. So you can screw around with each part, experiment wildly without damaging existing parts. You should be able to hammer something good out of every bank now with what amounts to 8 separate attempts eh? And it also means you can work on pretty complex developments - a part for an intro, a part for a weird middle 8, a part for an outtro, several parts for thematic development, heck with a 16 bar polyphonic part I've been breaking into piano pieces and all manner of strange side-roads just to see what happens. Couldn't have done that with my old 12-bank, 4-pattern per track mode. I've not even scratched the surface of what the extra memory can do. The loop within a pattern means you can put in one-off events such as cymbal crashes, sound effects that only appear when you change parts or restart the track. Or you might 'hide' bars beyond the end of the loop that you later reveal in performance. I could gush more. You know me ;) > Short break from coding now. Too much coding not enough P3ing ;-) ;-) Haven't forgotten the CDs (well, I had but, you know...) Thanks Dave, Colin, without you guys our festival gig at the end of the month would be much more hard work than fun. BTW anyone fancy coming along, details: www.shamania.com Cheers all, P3 rules! -- Paul --- "Effectus super absolutionem" http://www.JointIntelligenceCommittee.com http://www.myspace.com/jointintelligencecommittee
