It's a great sequencer. Pretty much everything that you can do on it can be done on the p3, however, the user interface is really good, and you can see all events on a track simultaneously. There is a much finer granularity in event timings than on the p3 - everything from just a few ticks up to 16 beats per event. It has absolutely nothing like the p3 aux events. While you can modulate events between tracks, there is nothing like the multiple, incestuous modulation that you can achieve on the p3. Some cool stuff that most sequencers don't have - you can select a different direction for every event, and even a different channel per event. These can cycle at different steps per sequence, and different timings than the note track, etc...all of this, of course, can be achieved on the p3, but not as quickly and easily as on the Schrittmacher. I've owned one, so I can answer more questions about it. You can download the manual, btw. -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: "Steven Clements" <sdclements@gmail.com> > For all of you who may care... there's one on sale at > http://www.analoguehaven.com/used/ > > a powerful sequencer made in conjunction with klaus schulze. the > schrittmacher has 32 parameter lines which can be freely configured > and linked with each other. each line has 16 steps which can be edited > using the 16 rotary encoders with integrated pushbuttons. this > schrittmacher includes a manual and power supply. > > I know very little about these... so I'm not certain if it's a good > deal for those who don't have a P3 > > ...does it have features that the P4 many include? > > cheers > Steve > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
