Although you don't actually *need* to - but I agree it can be chaotic 
(I've done it and not entirely on purpose) depending on the bank you 
switch to.

Maybe the P4 will realise it's a bank change during playback and take a 
global bar length to smoothly change tempo, make active tracks of the 
new bank auto-muted but "primed" etc. For now you could always ensure 
part1 has no active tracks, or just one for the bass/percussion or 
something.
