I got a quote of roughly 40 ukp each for 16x2 LCD-compatible VFD displays
from Noritake.
They *should* work, though I haven't tested them - at the price, LCD is good
enough for me.
They have a much higher current draw than either PLED or LCD, so the
de-coupling resistor/capacitor on the P3 mainboard may need the resistor
replaced with an inductor if there is too much voltage drop.
