I have #1013 and it is a DIN SYNC out unit on the SYNC output. The weird behavior may mean it is a DIN SYNC unit. It's easy to check by plugging into one of the MIDI outs instead of the SYNC out. Or plug a DIN SYNC unit into the SYNC Out and see if it tracks. -Jim
